Google Calculator

Google has now launched its own online calculator.

So the next time you need to do a quick calculation, you can head to Google. The search giant has added a scientific calculator to its varied array of features. 

This calculator is a 34-button scientific calculator and allows user to do all types of calculations ranging from arithmetic to trigonometric. Just type in 'Calculator' in Google search and start calculating.

This calculator appears the moment you type in the word "calculator" or a mathematical expression say "3+8" into the Google's search box.

The calculator has functions for calculating sines, cosines, square roots and tangents as well as also dedicated buttons for Pi and Euler's number.

Not just this, users can also use Google's voice search feature -- found in mobile version and in Chrome browser -- to do calculations without actually touching keyboard.

Type "Zerg Rush" into Google Search for a Surprise

A yet another 'Easter Egg' by Google has given us a reason to goof off. This surprise by Google is based on the popular game StarCraft.

Type Zerg Rush into Google, the O’s in Google take over the page. If you double click, your cursor turns into a plus sign. Click on the O’s to wipe them out. Google then tabulates your score which is shown on top right  and, in a social media twist, lets you post your score on Google+.

For those unaware, Zergs are an alien race of insectoids in Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft. In the game you rush them by amassing your battle units and blitz them. Hence the name Zerg Rush for this surprise of Google.

Google’s motivation for this latest Easter Egg is not clear, except perhaps it may be a way to migrate more users to Google+.

It has become quite a trend to shorten links for websites & blogs so that people don't have to copy and paste long web addresses. But this leads to a problem. Where to these shortened links go??? Typically you have no way of knowing that where a shortened url takes you to!! You do have to be careful online not to follow unknown links that could lead to spyware/adware/viruses.

But there is a way if you use either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as your web browser and by utilizing add-ons & extensions. Then while you are browsing, these links are automatically detected and converted to show where they really go.

For Firefox try 'Long URL Please' add-on, as advertised on BBC Click's Webscape. It supports lengthening the hyperlink of 80 shortening services including the most popular bit.ly, tinyurl.com & goo.gl.

Cut The Rope Game

Cut the Rope is a physics-based puzzle video game for handheld gaming platforms. It was developed in 2010 by Russian developers ZeptoLab and is published by Chillingo.

In 2011, it was followed by a sequel, Cut the Rope: Experiments, published by ZeptoLab themselves.

Objectives:

The object of each level is to maneuver a piece of candy into the mouth of a green cartoon monster called "Om Nom". The candy hangs by one or several of the titular ropes which the player can cut with a swipe of their finger, and can also be manipulated through other objects including bellows and floating bubbles. Each level pack introduces new objects.

The other objectives are to pick up up to three stars per level by touching them with the candy, to keep the candy within the box, and to avoid spike and electricity hazards. Levels are scored with zero to three stars, according to how many the player picked up, and also with a point score depending on the number of stars collected and the time required for the completion of the level.

Spelling Mistake on a Facebook Comment?? Here's How to Correct It

Facebook brought out this new feature for facebook comments which allows you to edit any recently posted facebook comment within 10 seconds. This is indeed a very useful feature and targeted solely for the purpose of editing spelling mistakes (typos) we do on facebook comments.

Facebook commenting system was improved recently by letting you post a comment by pressing Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line), which bugged some people.But again it was a nicely implemented feature as now you don’t need to use your mouse every time you post a comment. So if you use facebook’s keyboard navigation shortcuts, then the whole facebook experience can become mostly keyboard based, mouse-less. Quite productive if you are using a laptop.

For Editing Typos:

Once you post a comment you have 10 seconds to edit it in case of changing a comment or correcting spelling mistakes.

After posting the comment, hover you mouse on the comment and click [x] button. The edit feature will activate and you can change the content of your comment as desired. You can re-edit the comment if you click [x] within 10 seconds.

Don't worry, the users won’t see your comment unless 10 seconds have passed after the last edit. So you don’t have to worry now about those silly spelling mistakes, typos or something which you shouldn’t have said.

We must thank facebook for this comment edit feature since we do lot of typos and now we can just edit them & no one will ever know…;)

Robotic Farm To Harvest Crops In Japan's Tsunami Hit Land

Japan has chosen the technology way (as expected) to overcome its agriculture related issues. The country is still recovering from last year's Tohoku earthquake and the subsequent Tsunami. Giving the two disasters a clean sweep, Japan is all set to re-establish itself in an entirely innovative way. The agriculture ministry of the country is working to create a fully robotic experimental farm on a 600 acre of land that was destroyed by Tsunami.
